I create high-performing, inclusive teams.

Organizations Thriving through Wellbeing in Leadership

Leadership is noble and important work. It’s a privilege and an opportunity for personal and professional growth. It can also be lonely, and sometimes exhausting.

I am here to support and expand your sense of possibility, both for yourself and for your teams.

Who I help:

  • You are an organizational leader who wants to do meaningful and impactful work, but not at the expense of yourself. You want a life you love, and you struggle at times to reconcile how to lead others, have impact, and also find the joy and balance you are seeking.

  • You lead a team and you’re committed to fostering a culture where trust is strong, excellence is the standard, and innovation is welcomed.

  • You have a new team and want to invest from the get-go and cultivate psychological safety where creative synergies and high performance abound.

  • You are searching for interactive,  professional facilitation of team and organizational retreats, and strategic meetings.

About me:

I am a highly experienced facilitator and trainer with over 20 years in adult education, leadership development, and curriculum design. I bring certifications in emotional intelligence, coaching, equity, diversity and inclusion, social styles, mindfulness teaching, conflict resolution and more.

For 20 years I have been teaching, designing and facilitating groups of higher education leaders, graduate students and corporate professionals to foster their own effectiveness and build high-performing and equitable teams that achieve their mission while caring for one another.

At the University of Toronto I was the Associate Director of the Troost Institute for Leadership Education in Engineering. I helped technically-oriented people become effective people-leaders. I led a team of 6 staff and convened 14 academic professors, all of whom were dedicated to leadership education. I know first hand how rewarding and challenging it can be to lead.

Bio

At Western University my work focussed on senior leaders, and those who lead teams. I am privileged to bring communities of leaders together for learning and conversation that inspires their ongoing growth and impact. I have created and delivered customized professional education to Women in Capital Markets, Toronto Hydro, The University of Toronto’s OPTIONS program among others.

My journey into leadership development education and coaching began when I heard author Margaret Wheatley describe a leader as ‘anyone who wants to make things better.’ I have my Masters in Adult Education and Counselling Psychology and I saw myself as an educator and community builder, but not a leader per se. Her comment sparked my curiosity about a different kind of leadership: less focussed on position; more focussed on self-awareness, relational trust and clear purpose.

I am a parent and in my free time I enjoy yoga, meditation, weekly ukulele, travel and a range of diverse cuisines. After 20 years in Toronto I returned to London (my home town) with my family and we live in Wortley Village where we can walk, live amongst the trees and invest in community living.
